Q: Who can sign up?
A: Whether you are college bound, trade school bound, or looking for a career out of high school - any high school student will benefit.
Q: Who should attend the workshop?
A: Ideally the student and at least one parent. However, while it is beneficial, it is not required for a parent to attend.
Q: What can I expect at the all day workshop?
A: The workshop is broken into two sections. The morning will be spent reviewing students’ personalized assessment results and learning how to use those to better understand themselves. In the afternoon, students learn how to use the guidebook to walk out the next steps of the program after they leave the workshop.
Q: What happens after the workshop?
A: The workshop sets students up to better understand themselves and overviews a guidebook that will be used by students over the next year to research and make decisions about their future careers and education plans. The guidebook walks students through: building a network, researching careers, interviewing and interning in fields of interest, researching colleges, building soft skills, creating an education plan and implementing steps to reach their goals. They walk this portion out with guidance from a parent or mentor. During this time students are not only planning for their future, but also learning how to navigate major life decisions with confidence!
Q: Is lunch provided at the workshop?
A: Yes! We provide lunch for students and parents.
Q: Why should I sign up?
A: Did you know that 75% of college students change majors at least one time costing families an additional $5,000-$30,000 in expenses? Students who participate in the Career Coaching for Students have completed the work of researching and identifying a high potentional career. This saves families money and puts students on a track to success.
